Fake Hacking: You're doing it wrong

As seen on Fringe this evening. That's supposed to be an IP Address.


At least they could have used an RFC 1918 Non-Routable Address.

  1. If they used a RFC 1918 nonroutable address, then folks at home might be likely to hit systems on internal networks at work or at home :)

  2. Just like folks at home stand some chance of hitting a TelCo-owned number when they see a 555-xxxx number on TV? :P

  3. The difference is, Telcos encouraged the use of 555 numbers in media, however there is no such consensus from the admins of each internal network :)
